Why You Should Choose Us

How the Probate Process Works

When an individual dies with or without a will, the courts need to get involved. An executor, usually an immediate relative, is chosen to take charge of the decedent's estate. The executor gathers together the decedent's assets, notifies creditors, pays the bills, then distributes remaining assets to the heirs upon the court's approval. This process is called probating an estate and the rules are arcane and complicated. Not knowing how the courts work can cost you months of delays and countless hours trying to figure everything out for yourself.

Keep It Simple. Probate Simple.

How to Choose a Qualifed Probate Lawyer

Many in need of a probate lawyer have never hired a lawyer before. What should you look for in a probate lawyer? What makes a lawyer qualified to handle your case? Of course, any lawyer you consider must be licensed, in good standing and have experience in probating estates. Generally, the greater the experience and knowledge of probate, the better the result in terms of smooth progress and the speed with which your case may proceed. In addition, a probate lawyer who has been actively involved in the probate legal community with accountants, appraisers, real estate agents and other affiliated service providers as resources can better serve you.
